Bevor Ihr im Forum postet, schaut nach, ob eure Frage nich schon einmal beantwortet wurde. Es werden keine Fragen zu grundlegenden WordPress Funktionalitäten beantwortet. Dafür gibt es die allgemeinen WordPress Foren und den unschlagbaren WordPress Codex. Außerdem empfehle ich zuerst die Tutorials zu lesen, da dort die meisten Fragen beantwortet werden. Für absolute Anfänger, die bisher wenig mit WordPress gearbeitet haben, empfiehlt es sich, ein paar Euro in das e-Book “Sites that Soar” von Aisling d´Art zu investieren. Das Buch erklärt den Aufbau einer Website anhand von BranfordMagazine Schritt für Schritt. Es ist zwar nur in englisch verfügbar, aber doch sehr einfach und verständlich.

Please make sure your question hasn´t been postet before. I will not answer questions on basic WordPress functionalities because there are general WordPress forums and the amazing WordPress Codex which do this job better. Check out the tutorials. Most of the questions will be answered here. For unexperienced WordPress useres I reccomend to purchase the e-book “Sites that Soar” by Aisling d´Art. This book shows a step-by-step how-to build up a website using WordPress and BranfordMagazinne.

hey,

on my website it's all fine, because atm its not the wp plugin that i use but the fpss, that cost 22 eur. the screenshot was taken at a time where i used the wp plugin for a short period to see how it looks so far on my site.

i dont want to upload the plugin files for a wider audience, cause the css is still messy and i want to fix that first. if you give me your email on tobias(at) “the website that is mentioned beneath”.de i can send you the plugin files.

hey richard,

are you familiar with css? for me its all try 'n' error and it takes so much time ;-). the changes in the wp featured content gallery plugin so that it displays dynamic content are running perfectly. its just not good looking by now.

This is how it looks by now. I'd like the navigation inside the container and the overlay-text-box should have a variable size so when the excerpt is a bit longer as in the example it should grow in height so that all the excerpt-text is visible. In the example it is just cut after 2 lines of text.

Good move Tobi, I will be very interested to see this plugin when you have it up and running. Please share, and let me know if I can help some. I've only just found this theme and I'm thinking of using it on my website in the future. Features like this are important.

i played around a bit with the plugin. i modded it so it features
dynamic content, i.e. the 4 newest posts of a certain category. so
there is no need to fill the slides manually in the options page
anymore. i got it all that far that it ran fine on my blog. but i would
have to do some mayor css customizations to let it fit 100% and because
i have a running slideshow i think i wont do it unless i have some time
left somewhen. perhaps ill release the whole plugin then with all the
new features.

wow, looks like that plugin might have saved me 22 eur if only i would have found it earlier

You may be interested in this gallery plugin here http://www.wpelements.com/the-featured-content-gallery-plugin/ Gives a nice featured post gallery effect with cycling images from articles. Looks straightforward to install, maybe in one of the fron page tabs.

Hey,

I'd also like it even more if it would be for free. When I was searching for a plugin like FPSS I didn't really find any alternatives. If anyone could provide a link to an open source Slideshow like FPSS I could try to build a plugin for WP out of it. But the slideshows I found were just “normal” slideshows for galleries. Modifying those slideshows to fit my needs would have taken longer than an equivalent amounf of 22 EUR
