Bevor Ihr im Forum postet, schaut nach, ob eure Frage nich schon einmal beantwortet wurde. Es werden keine Fragen zu grundlegenden WordPress Funktionalitäten beantwortet. Dafür gibt es die allgemeinen WordPress Foren und den unschlagbaren WordPress Codex. Außerdem empfehle ich zuerst die Tutorials zu lesen, da dort die meisten Fragen beantwortet werden. Für absolute Anfänger, die bisher wenig mit WordPress gearbeitet haben, empfiehlt es sich, ein paar Euro in das e-Book “Sites that Soar” von Aisling d´Art zu investieren. Das Buch erklärt den Aufbau einer Website anhand von BranfordMagazine Schritt für Schritt. Es ist zwar nur in englisch verfügbar, aber doch sehr einfach und verständlich.

Please make sure your question hasn´t been postet before. I will not answer questions on basic WordPress functionalities because there are general WordPress forums and the amazing WordPress Codex which do this job better. Check out the tutorials. Most of the questions will be answered here. For unexperienced WordPress useres I reccomend to purchase the e-book “Sites that Soar” by Aisling d´Art. This book shows a step-by-step how-to build up a website using WordPress and BranfordMagazinne.

Finally got to workaround with it. the div should be represented with a “float” property.

Thanks to Mr. Oeser for a very nice theme.

smilepak, you are right. It works smoothly without those tag you mentioned. Any other way to get around with it without removing those tags?

Oh sheesh, stupid me…..It was my mistake..

Turned out you can't have anything between the get header tag and the <div id=content> on the index.php file. That caused the shift. I had a google ad in there.

In your case, looking at your index file, it might be this tag causing it

<div class=”headblu”>

</div>

When I hover on menu, the footer moves to the location where the sidebar ends, disregarding on how long the contents is. If the post is longer than the sidebar, the footer goes up and position itself almost in the middle of the post.

I know this has something to do with nav-clearfloat issues, but I dont know how to resolve it. Hope someone can help. Thanks

I've been ponding and battling this problem for several weeks now and can't seem to figure that out myself. The issue only exist if viewing via IE7 and does not exist when viewing via Firefox, Opera, Safari, and IE6.

From what I've gathered it is an IE7 overflow issue with how float tags work. I haven't been able to pin point it yet.

I've gone through several different validation engine and none of which found the error.

I've also tore apart the whole CSS and mock with it, still yet to find an answer haahah

Honestly your whole layout looks a bit destroyed when I look at your post page in Firefox. Since it seem as if you have changed a lot I cannot tell where exactly the issue is.

It would require a step by step analysis of the CSS which is a bit more than I can provide for free in this forums.

I know it will be a pain in the ass but I would reccomend to set up the original theme and then go step by step and ckeck each and every change you make. Once in a while you will find the “bad” CSS.
