Bevor Ihr im Forum postet, schaut nach, ob eure Frage nich schon einmal beantwortet wurde. Es werden keine Fragen zu grundlegenden WordPress Funktionalitäten beantwortet. Dafür gibt es die allgemeinen WordPress Foren und den unschlagbaren WordPress Codex. Außerdem empfehle ich zuerst die Tutorials zu lesen, da dort die meisten Fragen beantwortet werden. Für absolute Anfänger, die bisher wenig mit WordPress gearbeitet haben, empfiehlt es sich, ein paar Euro in das e-Book “Sites that Soar” von Aisling d´Art zu investieren. Das Buch erklärt den Aufbau einer Website anhand von BranfordMagazine Schritt für Schritt. Es ist zwar nur in englisch verfügbar, aber doch sehr einfach und verständlich.

Please make sure your question hasn´t been postet before. I will not answer questions on basic WordPress functionalities because there are general WordPress forums and the amazing WordPress Codex which do this job better. Check out the tutorials. Most of the questions will be answered here. For unexperienced WordPress useres I reccomend to purchase the e-book “Sites that Soar” by Aisling d´Art. This book shows a step-by-step how-to build up a website using WordPress and BranfordMagazinne.

Thanks. I agree, I probably should have installed it that way and probably will redo. I think it's because I downloaded it and it has that subfolder in it. I uploaded it literally (duh). I still can't give links a category and the ones you see are the ones that worked before I upgraded. The rest are invisible because I didn't put the default category in the page code.


Thanks again, great theme and I will contribute when I decide if this is the one I settle with!

I have no clue why you have installed the theme unter …/themes/wyntonmagazine/wyntonmagazine/… and not at …/themes/wyntonmagazine/… because this is the regular way which I also use at the demopage.

But nevertheless it should not make any major difference if your path is like it is. If WordPress is set up properly it should be able to recognise your theme even if it´s stored in a subfolder.

By the way: I can´t see any major issue on your site.

How can I get this theme to be directly under my main URL? Instead of: http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/wyntonmagazine/wyntonmagazine/index.php

It would be:

http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/wyntonmagazine/index.php

Which file would I edit to keep all the paths proper? I think this is why my theme goes to default a lot and also why when I try to use link categories for my links it thinks they are all the default.
