WordPress 3.1 has just been released and I published an update for all of my themes today. For BranfordMagazine, WyntonMagazine and Freelancer the update was just a minor one with very few files affected so updating should be an easy task. SpiegelMagazine was completely re-build and got a lot of new features and a re-engeneered codebase.
All of my themes are running fine under WordPress 3.1 as far as I have tested them. If you encounter any issues please let me know.
The big update is – as mentioned above – SpiegelMagazine. I have changed a couple of things. The theme is now available in 4 pre-defined colorschemes which are meant to be kind of a basis to start your own work from. Since PRiNZ themes in most cases do use very few images for the layout and design you can change the colors very easy by editing one of the css files in the styles subfolder.
I also changed the way thumbnails are handeled. You can now choose between the famous and flexible TimThumb script (which I always reccommend) and the WordPress own Post Thumbnail function. The menu bars on top are now powered by the superfish menu that provides nice and elegant jQuery effects.
And I added the Nivo image slider with 8 great trasition effects which is much more flexible than the former WP-Cycle slider.
If you purchased a theme or the All-Themes-Pack before you can download the latest version in the support forum for free as usual. If you haven´t purchased…well I guess then it´s time now to visit the shop ![]()
